DEFENSIVE NUMBERING SYSTEM



The Front 7 will use the above defensive numbering system to properly align on the offensive formation.

On INSIDE SHOULDER ALIGNMENTS the defensive player will align his nose on the inside shoulder of the offensive player.

On HEAD UP ALIGNMENTS the defensive player will align his nose head up on the offensive player.

On OUTSIDE SHOULDER ALIGNMENTS the defensive player will align his inside shoulder on the outside shoulder of the offensive player.

Mike sets the Defensive Tackles to the Most Linemen by making a Right or Left call.  The Defensive Ends can also be set with Mike's call should the coach choose to do so.
  • 1st Tie Breaker-Most Receivers
  • 2nd Tie Breaker-2/3 of the Field
  • 3rd Tie Breaker-Left or QB's Passing Hand

The 1st digit tells the Call Side Defensive Linemen and Mike where to align.

The 2nd digit tells the Back Side Defensive Linemen and Will where to align.

DT
aligns to the Call Side unless the 2nd digit is larger than the 1st digit
then the NT aligns to the Call Side.

Sam sets the Defensive Secondary to the
